Doctoral Student from the Doctoral School of Białystok University of Technology Elected Chair of PDUT

During the LXI Congress of the Agreement of Technical University Doctoral Students (PDUT), held at Opole University of Technology, a new Board for the 2025 term was elected. MSc Eng. Adriana Dowbysz, a doctoral student from Białystok University of Technology, was chosen as the Chair. This election represents a significant distinction for the Doctoral School of Białystok University of Technology, highlighting its growing influence in shaping the future of the doctoral student community in Poland. The new Board also includes MSc Eng. Jędrzej Matla as Vice-Chair and MSc Eng. Wiktoria Kanciak as Secretary.

During the Congress, participants addressed pressing challenges facing early-career researchers, such as the declining interest in second-cycle (master’s) studies, difficulties in securing funding for initial research projects, and potential career paths after completing a doctorate. The event also featured tours of advanced research laboratories at Opole University of Technology and concluded with a cultural evening at the Millennium Amphitheatre in Opole.

The Agreement of Technical University Doctoral Students (PDUT) is not just a dynamically growing organization—it is also a vital platform for the exchange of experiences, both academic and related to student governance. It provides a space where doctoral students from across Poland can share knowledge, ideas, and best practices developed within their doctoral councils. Through this collaboration, the Agreement strengthens the academic community and fosters joint efforts to tackle challenges faced by young researchers.

We warmly encourage participation in future PDUT Congresses. These gatherings are unique opportunities to engage actively in academic life, represent your university, and contribute to the continued advancement of Polish science.
